Gesendet: 23:09 - 18.10.2004 Oil Feed Filter Removal: The picture shows the removal of the oil feed restrictor piece in the top of the head. This restrictor needs to be removed in order to remove the brass oil feed filter (in the hole) that sits below the restrictor. The factory service manual recommends that the brass oil feed filter be removed, and the restrictor piece be replaced with one that has a 1mm hole. (MIE says you can also drill out the existing restrictor to this dimension). The filter tends to clog and starve the cambox for oil. The T-shaped tool (available from MIE) is screwed into the restrictor, and the nut on the tool is turned to remove the restrictor. The brass oil filter inside the hole can be removed from the top or by blowing it out with compressed air from the other end (if the head is removed). |
